The Professional Baking and Pastry Arts program’s student holiday baking sale gives students the opportunity to experience large-scale production baking, just as they would in industry. They learn how to bake in large quantities, manage deadlines and production schedules. They also gain valuable customer service experience by serving customers at the sale.
Each year, our students make about 30,000 pieces of holiday baking for approximately 400 customer orders, including 8,000 shortbread pieces, 3,000 chocolate truffles and 3,000 butter tarts. The VIU Student Holiday Bake Sale has become a community tradition that customers look forward to every year.
Funds raised support student success through opportunities such as educational field trips and scholarships.

- We're unable to accommodate substitutions or dietary restrictions, due to the volume of items being produced.
- Orders are accepted from Nov. 1-30, 2026 unless we sell out early.
