Kate Wilson
Bio
Chef Kate originally studied Chemistry and Environmental Technologies at the University of Victoria and Camosun College in Victoria, BC. She began her career in the environmental field, working with the Ministry of Environment, the Nature Conservancy of Canada in Victoria, and Archipelago Marine Research in Oregon, USA, before transitioning into the world of Pastry Arts.
After returning to Canada, Kate moved to Ucluelet, BC, where she took her first bakery position at Zoe’s Baking and began her apprenticeship in 2016. She completed her Red Seal Apprenticeship in 2020 and went on to work as the Pastry Chef at Pluvio Restaurant + Rooms in Ucluelet.
Kate later returned to her hometown of Nanaimo, where she launched her weekly baking Twitch stream, Pink Bow Patisserie, and worked as a baking consultant specializing in recipe testing and development. In 2022, she started a wholesale baking business in Nanaimo before joining the Professional Baking and Pastry Arts team at VIU as an Instructional Assistant in 2024. She is now beginning the Provincial Instructional Diploma Program with the goal of becoming an instructor in the future.
